Cono Sur's Winemaking Director Tours Asia Promoting the Pinot Noir variety

November has certainly been a busy month for Cono Sur’s Matías Ríos. The winemaking Director has traveled around Asia, more especifically to Japan, China and South Korea, promoting Cono Sur’s flagship variety: Pinot Noir.

All three countries have hosted vertical tastings of Ocio, the winery’s Icon wine. The events were attended by prestigious journalists and experts in each market, including Terry Xu, China’s most influencial Wine Educator. Over 45 wine professionals have had the priviledge of tasting Ocio’s best vintages.

The idea is not only promote Cono Sur’s Icon Wine but educate consumers and industry’s professionals about this elegant variety.

“Pinot Noir is a variety yet to be discovered by the Chinese consumer due to their preference for bolder reds and lower acidity wines. As a global leader in the production of Pinot Noir, it is our responsibility to educate on this variety. Hosting these events to public figures – journalists and KOLs – during the industry’s busiest time of the year, has proven the best way to achieve our goal.” – Paula Pinilla – Prestige Account & Brand Manager Asia
