Cono Sur Receives Recognition from the City of Chimbarongo

In a ceremony held at the Casa de la Cultura on November 18th, the City of Chimbarongo awarded 13 local citizens and companies for their invaluable contribution to the community. Cono Sur received the award under the Industry category for its several contributions to the community and colaborations with the City Hall. Cono Sur has worked with the Hospital de Chimbarongo, delivering health exams to its employees, as part of its Quality of Life Policy; with the Office of Inclusion and with the Municipal Office of Labor Intermediation for general recruitment as well as the recruitment for harvest. Cono Sur's Winemaking Director Tours Asia Promoting the Pinot Noir variety

November has certainly been a busy month for Cono Sur's Matías Ríos. The winemaking Director has traveled around Asia, more especifically to Japan, China and South Korea, promoting Cono Sur's flagship variety: Pinot Noir. All three countries have hosted vertical tastings of Ocio, the winery's Icon wine. The events were attended by prestigious journalists and experts in each market, including Terry Xu, China's most influencial Wine Educator. Over 45 wine professionals have had the priviledge of tasting Ocio's best vintages. Cono Sur, Chilean Wine Producer of the Year in the IWSC

Founded in 1969, the IWSC is considered to be the most prestigious competition of its kind.   The awards given by the Competition are believed to be among some of the highest honours in the industry. Judging for the Competition is unique in that it has two stages; first, the products are tasted blind by expert panels, selected from over 400 fully experienced and qualified industry judges.
