Cono Sur Vineyards & Winery receives International Recognition for its Energy Efficiency Programs

The Clean Energy Ministerial Forum has granted Cono Sur Vineyards & Winery the “Energy Management Insight Award” in recognition of the valuable insights it provided on the diverse benefits of using energy management systems certified to the ISO 50001 standard.

This award follows the “Gold Medal in Energy Efficiency 2017” – the highest recognition a company can aim to obtain – granted by the Chilean Ministry of Energy and the Chilean Agency of Energy Efficiency to companies that pioneer the responsible use of such resources.
Cono Sur Vineyards & Winery was recognized for optimizing its heating system in the fermentation tanks, reducing by 16% its gas consumption, an economical equivalent of $6.230 USD. Cono Sur has also implemented frequency inverters in the irrigation systems which led to a 13% reduction in costs, about $1.547 USD yearly.

Christian Maire, Cono Sur’s Sustainability System Manager highlights: “Our sustainable work has presented great results, and these acknowledgments are a reflection of our daily efforts. It is rewarding to learn that Cono Sur is featured alongside companies such as Google, LG and CMPC”.
